What happens when you let yourself slow down?

A Chance To Be Human is a short film for GoWesty, the California shop that has kept Volkswagen vans and buses on the road for decades. It follows a group of friends and their old VWs up the coast, through junkyards and forest roads to the dunes and the beach, all of it shot with the warmth and grain of film. I was creative director.

There’s no product pitch in it. It’s about what the vans are for: time outside, time with people, and a little time with nowhere to be.

Somewhere along the way there’s a hand-drawn reminder to check your oil, and the credits sign off: see ya in the slow lane. The film runs four minutes forty.
